Modernising Western Australia’s planning system

In November 2017 the Minister for Planning commissioned an independent review of the planning system to identify ways to make it more efficient, open and understandable to everyone.

A Green Paper was released for public comment in May 2018 which proposed five key reform areas – strategically-led, legible, transparent, efficient and delivering smart growth.  Submissions were invited on the Green Paper until 20 July 2018.

Submissions on the Green Paper are now closed and over 240 submissions have been received. Thank you to everyone who took the time to write to us.

The Reform Team within the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage will now review submissions, which will help inform the Government response to the Green Paper.
